Practical Nursing

The one-year certificate in practical nursing is designed to help the student meet the requirements to excel in nursing services working in direct patient care. 

The program is a fast-paced program consisting of three days in lecture and two in clinical hands-on experience. The clinical are centered around the student ensuring as much experience is awarded as possible.

The individual who successfully completes all program requirements is awarded a certificate in practical nursing and is eligible to sit for the National Council Licensing Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN). Successful passing of this exam merits the graduate the right to apply for state licensure as a licensed practical nurse and use the initials LPN

Graduates can go on to careers in long term care, hospitals, physician offices and many additional possibilities. Graduates can move on to the LPN to ADN program, offered at EGCC. This program is designed to allow students to continue work while advancing their career in nursing.
