Radiologic Technology

The mission of the radiography program is to prepare competent, entry-level radiographers able to function within the healthcare community. Students enrolled at EGCC’s Radiologic Technology Program will receive hands-on experience and knowledge in the production of x-ray’s. The program entails twenty-two months of combined didactic and clinical education. The program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT), and is designed for students to enter the workforce immediately.

The students will focus on the anatomy of the human body, gain experience working within an energized lab with state-of the-art digital equipment, and learn to position patients to obtain accurate radiographs. Students have the opportunity to earn an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Radiologic Technology. Graduates of this program are eligible to take the certification examination sponsored by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required for employment in the radiology field.

Radiographers may continue their education in areas such as Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computed Tomography (CT), Mammography, Nuclear Medicine and Sonography. If you would like a career in the medical field that is always advancing, enroll in the Radiologic Technology Program at EGCC.
