Phi Theta Kappa is an international honor society of two-year colleges. Its purpose
is to promote scholarship, leadership, fellowship, and service among qualified
students. To join, a full- or part-time student must maintain a GPA of 3.55 or higher
and accumulate at least 12 credit hours toward transfer or an associate degree. The
Alpha Omicron Nu Chapter of EGCC was chartered in 1989. Membership is by
invitation only and is open to students across all EGCC locations and online.
PTK recognizes the academic achievement of college students and provides
opportunities for its members to grow as scholars and leaders. PTK was established
in 1918 and is recognized as the official honor society for two years colleges by the
American Association of Community Colleges (AACC).
