SUPER                              INGREDIENTS


        SIMPLE                             •   1 tsp baking soda            •   1½ cups flour

                                                                                1 stick butter
                                               1 tsp salt
        BISCUITS                           •   1 tsp sugar                  •   ¾ cup buttermilk or diluted
                                                                                yogurt
                                           •
                                               ½ tsp baking powder
                                        DIRECTIONS
                   SERVINGS
                   10 servings          1.  In a bowl, mix together: 1 tsp baking soda, 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp sugar, ½ tsp baking
                                            powder, 1½ cups of flour (all white or mix of white and wheat).
                   PREP TIME            2.  Cut a cold stick of butter into ¼ inch slices and add to the dry mix.
                   10 minutes           3.  Using your hands, mix it together. You do not need to make a smooth mix, it
                                            should be somewhat chunky because of the butter.
                   COOK TIME            4.  Add ¾ cup of some “sour milk product,” i.e. buttermilk or diluted yogurt
                                            (I added more because my mix was too dry) to the mix.
                   12-18 minutes        5.  Brush with melted butter or with milk.
                                        6.  Bake 12-18 minutes.



                                                 COWBOY CAVIAR
           INGREDIENTS


           •   1 tomato, chopped
           •   1 avocado, chopped
           •   1 small onion, chopped
           •   1 bell pepper, chopped and
              seeded (yellow, red, or orange)
           •   2 garlic cloves, minced
           •   2 cans black beans, drained
           •   2 cans black eye peas, drained
           •   2 cans corn, drained
           •   ¼ cup sugar                                 SERVINGS          DIRECTIONS
           •   ¼ cup lime juice                            36 servings       Mix all ingredients into a bowl stir
           •   ¼ cup olive oil                                               thoroughly and let it sit in refrigerator
